I have been working hard to find a reasonably priced large monitor for photographic work. This is my 3rd Samsung SyncMaster 245BW. I need accurate color and none of the three could be calibrated by any method (including fudging all the controls and using the best sensor based calibration systems). Reds always oversaturate. The worst problem is that there is NO vertical position where you can see the whole image accurately. 1/4″ of vertical motion and the top gets darker and the bottom lighter or visa versa. If you are a graphic artists, stay away. For general purpose use it is a good deal.
As a notebook user I feel Samsung SyncMaster 245BW failed to notify consumers of irreversible changes in XP OS by using this monitor & drivers on notebooks as a primary or second monitor. Samsung doesn’t offer online support for resolving problems with monitors. Returning the monitor doesn’t solve being left with a blank screen on a high end graphics gamer notebook. Samsung SyncMaster 245BW lack of probelms solving suppoprt with new products is very disappointing.

number of connections in and out to use with other devices.I wish the screen can be brighter. The TV HD tuner does it job well, the digital channels are very clear. I have compared this one with other brands of monitor & it seems that the Samsung is a little pricy but offers the best picture quality.
